    3'. Emerges mid-spring with bright gold leaves with reddish brown stems in full sun, OR yellow in shade, the foilage can range from chartreuse to lime green.  Mid to late summer, racemes of tiny white flowers are produced, followed by deep purplish black, inedible berries. Deer resistant, attracts honeybees.
